Total Ozone Columns from the Environmental Trace Gases Monitoring Instrument (EMI) Using the DOAS Method

چکیده

Global measurements of total ozone are necessary to evaluate hole recovery above Antarctica. The Environmental Trace Gases Monitoring Instrument (EMI) onboard GaoFen 5, launched in May 2018, was developed measure and monitor the global column (TOC) distributions other trace gases. In this study, some first TOC results EMI using differential optical absorption spectroscopy (DOAS) method validation with ground-based data derived from Ozone (OMI) TROPOspheric (TROPOMI) observations presented. Results show that monthly average had a similar spatial distribution high correlation coefficient (R ≥ 0.99) both OMI TROPOMI TOC. Comparisons World Ultraviolet Radiation Data Centre also revealed strong correlations > 0.9). Continuous zenith sky scattered light instruments Antarctica were used for = EMI-derived able account rapid change associated sudden stratospheric warming event October 2019; 2019 45% higher compared 2018. These indicate DOAS is reliable has potential be monitoring.

Evaluation of ozone total column measurements by the Ozone Monitoring Instrument using a data assimilation system

[1] On 15 July 2004, the Ozone Monitoring Instrument (OMI) on board the EOS Aura mission was launched. One of OMI’s priorities is to continue the record of high spatial resolution ozone total column measurements provided by the various Total Ozone Mapping Spectrometer (TOMS) instruments since 1978. To this end, it is essential to estimate the errors affecting OMI ozone total column measurements...

Glyoxal retrieval from the Ozone Monitoring Instrument

We present an algorithm for the retrieval of glyoxal from backscattered solar radiation, and apply it to spectra measured by the Ozone Monitoring Instrument (OMI). The algorithm is based on direct spectrum fitting, and adopts a two-step fitting routine to account for liquid water absorption. Previous studies have shown that glyoxal retrieval algorithms are highly sensitive to the position of th...

So2 Data from the Ozone Monitoring Instrument

We discuss collection 2 SO2 data from the DutchFinnish Ozone Monitoring Instrument (OMI) on board NASA EOS/Aura spacecraft and show examples of detected volcanic and anthropogenic SO2 emissions. Quantification of anthropogenic SO2 emissions requires collection 3 reprocessing available in the fall 2007.

Validation of operational ozone profiles from the Ozone Monitoring Instrument

[1] In this paper we present the validation results of the operational vertical ozone profiles retrieved from the nadir observations by the Ozone Monitoring Instrument (OMI) aboard the NASA Earth Observing System (EOS) Aura platform. The operational ozone profile retrieval algorithm was developed at the Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute and the OMI mission data has been processed and m...
